“Paramore & More” — It’s fun to say that out loud.

Yes, Paramore highlights this week’s new music on The Edge.   Hayley and Company are out on the Honda Civic Tour this Summer (They’ll be at The Meadow Brook Music Festival on August 15th) and also have a new single from their latest CD “Brand New Eyes.”  It’s Called “Careful.”

The Gorillaz are also back with a new track.  The follow-up to “Stylo” is called “Rhinestone Eyes.”

And there’s a cool new track from Philadelphia act Free Energy called “Bang Pop.”

Old Faves – New Music

There is a bunch of new music from established acts right now.  Beginning with Muse, who have a new track on The Edge.  It’s called “Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever) and you’ll find it on the forthcoming soundtrack for” Twilight Eclipse” (y’know, the next brooding teen vampire movie.)

Pearl Jam also has a new single from their “Backspacer” album called “Amongst The Waves.”

There’s also now a follow-up to The Crash Kings hit single “Mountain Man.”  Their cool new track is called “You Got Me.”

There are also a couple new tunes from acts you may or may not know like LCD Soundsystem with their new “perfect for Summer” tune “Drunk Girls,” or a sweet track from Mumford & Sons called “Little Lion Man.”

I have blown off posting new music here for far too long!!!

So I will probably forget some (read most) of the new titles that have been added on The Edge since the last post so I’m going to have to just throw in a few of the highlights from the last few weeks.

Beginning with Flyleaf’s latest “Missing.”  It’s the follow-up to their huge track “Again” from their latest CD “Memento Mori.”

The band Against Me is back with a great new track called “I Was A Teenage Anarchist.”

“Trinity” is the next single from Paper Tongues – The band with that “Ride To California” tune.

Switchfoot is another act with a great follow-up single.  This one’s called “The Sound.”

These are a few of the new tracks added to The Edge recently.  I’ll have to post some more soon.

Building a better mousetrap

I’ve always thought this video for “An Honest Mistake” from The Bravery was awesome:

But then OK Go the masters of awesome videos one-upped them with this gem:

Here’s a behind the scenes making of thingy.

Heavy, Hockey, and Hill

Well new music this week on the Edge features the return of Cypress Hill who are back with a track called “Rise Up” featuring Rage/Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello.  I can’t find a good clip of “Rise Up” but if you go to the band’s website, you can check out another track called “It Ain’t Nothin’”

Also new this week is a track that was released last year but has been steadily gaining buzz lately from British Act The Heavy.  The tune is called “How You Like Me Now?”  You may have caught their awesome performance on Letterman, or may have heard the song on a Kia commercial that premiered during the Super Bowl.

And finally, the band Hockey is back with the follow-up to last Fall’s “Too Fake.”  The second single from their “Mind Chaos” CD is called “Song Away.”

TONS of new music this week

New Music Vol. 1

People often say “Hey I just heard that new song from (insert artist here) on The Edge.”  Often, however, they’re talking about a track we’ve been playing for weeks or even months.  So I have decided to post a few of the tracks we add each week here to make you aware of The Edge’s new music.  Now’s a good time to do it because since the start of 2010 there’s been a steady supply of great songs with more on the way.   I’ll post the ones I can find good links or videos of and this week’s adds both have sweet videos.

Dan Black  -  Symphonies

Motion City Soundtrack  -  Her Words Destroyed My Planet

Lemme’ play catch-up and post a few of the other highlights that have been added to The Edge in the last few weeks:

Gorillaz  -  Stylo

Alkaline Trio  -  This Addiction

Broken Bells  -  High Road

I’ll put new music updates here every week or so – so keep an eye out.

After Midnight Project

This Saturday The Edge presents an acoustic lunch with After Midnight Project at Wild Wing Cafe in Okemos.  One of the band’s guitarists, Spencer Bastian is from Lansing so come out and show some love.  You don’t have to buy tickets, just show up!  The band will play a few songs and hang out and sign some stuff for you; so be there.  It’ll kick off around Noon.  Here’s the video for “Take Me Home.”
